Analyst Programmer

$61,618 - $67,784 per annum
ACTTAB Limited has commenced implementation of a new betting system, to provide improved services and a broader range of products to the Canberra community.
This is a critical, high profile project for the Corporation, requiring the services of a committed Java Program Developer (POJO/Core) to work on Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) client based transaction gateway type applications. These non-internet facing Java transaction based applications are a key part of the project. There may also be maintenance responsibilities in respect of existing Java gateway applications.
Java (POJO/Core) programming, TCP/IP networking, and experience in both a Linux and Windows operating environment are the essential skills required for this position.
Ideally, while not essential, the successful candidate will also be familiar with web services technologies and related facilities, including:
· SOAP / XML / Axis
· JMS / Active MQ
· MySQL
Further regard would also be given to applicants who have skills and experience in development environments such as Eclipse or Netbeans, and build environments such as Maven, Hudson or Artifactory. Knowledge of version control systems such as Subversion and Mercurial is also desirable; as is experience with C programming.

ACTTAB Spring Carnival
Casual Customer Service Officers Required
$25.78 per hour
ACTTAB is seeking to recruit a team of people to undertake paid training and employment as casual Branch/Racecourse Customer Service Officers, for approximately nine hours per week (Monday to Saturday) in preparation for the Spring Racing Carnival. Successful applicants will be engaged as casual day and/or evening operators for the duration of the Spring Racing Carnival season.
Customer Service Officers are responsible for the delivery of quality customer service using the ACTTAB Point of Sale system and undertaking cash handling, while adhering to ACTTAB’s business compliance requirements. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be of neat and tidy appearance, and available to work on Melbourne Cup Day (Tuesday 2 November 2010).
