Important information

What is ‘Trackside’?

Trackside is a simulated computer-driven racing game based on a fixed odds system, where each runner has a chance of winning that corresponds with its odds. The chance is not affected by the amount wagered.

Anyone over the age of 18 can play.

Trackside offers the popular betting options of Win, Place, Quinella and Trifecta.

The minimum bet per ticket is $3.00 for a Trifecta and $5.00 for Win, Place and Quinella.

Bets of less than these amounts will be accepted if the total ticket value is equal to $5.00. (e.g. ten games at 50 cents per game)

Bets may have single or multiple selections and may cover one or more games.

An even easier option is a Trackside Mystery Bet, available on Win, Place, Quinella and Trifecta.

The graphics are eye catching, bright and full of movement – and with a race every five minutes, the action never stops!

How does Trackside work?

Each Trackside race is like a game involving 100 different balls in a barrel. Twenty-one of the balls are marked number 1, seventeen are marked number 2, twelve are marked number 3, down to number 12, with only two balls.

The barrel is spun and a winner is drawn. The winner is completely random, yet number 1 always has more chance of winning than number 2, and so on.

It’s just like flipping a coin. Over a large number of flips you will end up with an even number of heads and tails, but if you’ve flipped five heads in a row the very next flip still has a 50% chance of turning up heads.

The same goes for Trackside. If number 2 has won three races in a row, in the next race it will once again have a 17% chance of winning - no more, no less.

Important information

Players agree to be bound by Trackside rules. Please check all tickets. A bet ticket can only be cancelled before selling is closed for the specific race. Minimum and maximum bet and ticket values may be applied. Winnings are paid on the printed ticket only.

This page is intended to provide general information only. For full details on the rules of the game, you should refer to the Rules of Trackside.  Copies of the Rules of Trackside are also available at all venues where Trackside is offered.
